Facts against Atkins diet:

It is not ideal for vegetarians as it concentrates on meat in diet menu. It can lead to osteoporosis, heart diseases, colon cancer and renal diseases. It reduces vitamin and mineral levels such as calcium, potassium and magnesium; and increases the levels of fats and carbohydrates. Some studies claimed that the diet brings bad breath, headache, and fatigue. They also claim that the diet can lead to diarrhea, general weakness, rashes and muscle cramps. The other sources say that the Atkins diet is not effective for long term weight loss and mainly focuses on high-protein, high-fat foods such as meat and eggs and restricts healthy foods leading to some severe diseases.
